I still dont get it. Are you looking beyond someone? or looking through him as in you consider him invisible? or important of all, you think that someone is your soulmate?
@ j sea: now u made u think.. i dont exactly try to define my emotions when i write.. it just comes. then when i have to analyse it i squirm. coz it means facing the truth..
so now im thinking y i wrote this... actually it came about for all relationships.. anyone can face. more often than not there comes a time when u dont want to deal with issues.. problems. so u choose to ignore them. there by effectively building barriers..
i guess this came from tht concept. ;)
never looked at it from a soulmate point of view..
i actly thought u meant u see someone n thats wt he is to u. hes defined by what u see him wear, do say. but u dont really see what hes made of, what hes thinking, what hes like inside. we're blind to the inner workings of other peoples minds bcoz we can only watch them from the outside. something like that. heh. p.s. do u like third eye blind?
@ icy highs: hmmm never thoguht about it like.. but yeah can go both ways.. actually dont u think both are kinda related?? i mean.. when there is an issue its coz u dont get how the other person thinks.feels..etc.etc.and coz of tht there are problems whc inevitably u might not want to face..
do u think there is a soulmate?? also u think theres only one?
something i was going to pose as a question on my next post actually..soulmates..i think definitly theres soulmates..but i dont know if theres only one..or for that matter how intertwined are love n soulmate..is ur soulmate ur lover? if it need not be, isnt it kind of unfair on ur girlfriend then? i mean id be hurt if my girfriend said her soulmate is some dude from somewhere..can a person have only one soulmate? how do u know if somebody is ur soulmate? if u can fall in love more than once, cant u have difrnt soulmates at diffrnt points of ur life? but then agen are love and soulmate similar concepts? i nevr seem to hav any answers do i..? lol.
join the club... too many questions is all i have to say... ok lets jus say soulmate and love are intertwined..what wuld u do if ur soulmate aldready was in love with some one.. a supposition( is this a word?).. give up?? tht is the question i had in mind when i asked u this..
as for the many soulmates thing.. yeah i think there are more than one.. but for the love and the soulmate thing.. im not too sure..
first and foremost what/ who is a soulmate? some who u can merely relate too? or some one you love very dearly? or both? coz i think by defining what/ who a soulmate is u narrow down the playing field..
sorry to intrude on this conversation ,icy and rebellious....but couldnt resist ;)....
soulmates are ppl who 'really know' each other...too well.its not merely someone u can relate to....there may not be a relationship between them in the conventional/real sense....
actually u do not need to have a realtionship with ur soulmate...cause u dont need to give a fixed definition to what exists between the two. love is a slightly different thing ...in this context....although lovers can become soulmates...the opposite may not be true... cause a soulmate knows u so deep..that he accepts u completely...its almost complete understanding...but love dosent need all that.....even appearances work fine sometimes....hence ur soulmate could be in love with somebody else.totally possible.
also i guess soulmates are the highest form of love...kinda a point where love becomes unconditional..... and dosent rely on outwardly displays of affection/frequent proofs. its the most intimate form of love i suppose....if i could call it that.
@ sreicanth: welcome to the discussion..:) highest form of love?? so love only between soulmates is unconditional? how is tht poss? then when u say hav a boyfriend or girlfriend.. thth love isnt unconditional?? or ur saying if the love is unconditional they become ur soulmate??
btw u think tht a soulmate is ony from the opp sex as icy highs says??
hmm...love is unconditional from the start of a relationship only incase of a mother and her children i believe... in all other cases...it starts out as attraction/lust/fondness...that kinda thing....cause that person fits into ur jigsaw puzzle of desirability...various factors play a part here. so love takes time to become unconditional.....for the realtionship to mature....to mutual understanding to increase to certain level.until then...i dont think its all that unconditional..... so in reality and in most of the cases....love seems unconditional...or atlest its professed by ppl(boyfriend, girlfriend scenario) in that way.....but its only between some ppl that it becomes unconditional at a very early time in the relationship.
and abt the soulmate thing....i dont think that soulmate has to be from the opposite sex...(how much ever we want that quality in ppl we love... )...they can be brothers, sisters, cousins, distant relatives, best friends...infact anyone.....who knows u that good and is always there for u...and loves u...but does not necessarily desire u in a sexual way...
this is what i could translate from my thoughts...although there is a lot more going on in my mind......cant put it in clear terms....
P.S:wanna know if i made sense...or it was over-rational and under-emotional?????
yeah i think that your soulmate could probably be someone other than your boyfriend/ girlfriend.. and yeah they could be of the same sex even...
but then could you be confusing best friend with soulmate?? i dont know hence im asking..? or maybe there are no clear cut definitions.. coz the line between everything to do with love is very blurred.. hazy.. maybe it does not exist even.
i dont know.. but i would like to think that my soulmate and the one i love( in a sexual way;) be one and the same.. kinda idealistic maybe..
yep there are no clear cut defintions...(as always in life). but yeah a best friend is definitely close to a soulmate.
and yes....as i said before...dont we all want a soulmate as a lifelong companion.??...but its not utopia..so we woud be lucky if we would find someone like that.
actually the one u love may not be ur soulmate at all..but that dosent stop u from loving that person.so this is where trouble surfaces.as i said before soulmates dont appear overnight into ur lives.u know them for considerabel time....and later at some point u realise them. jus a thought again. donno what i am suggesting. lemme know..if u understand...;-)
yeah i think only later on only in life u realise tht they could be ur soulmate or whatever... today someone was telling me "u always love the one who leaves.. nd u always leave the one who loves you.." go figure!

hmm....
kinda like jus 'see' but not 'acknowledge the presence/the needs'??
or maybe u jus dream about each other... kinda like the unattainable affection??(or is that too far-fetched an interpretation??)
the first part was what i had in mind.. its like ur looking but not really seeing the person in front of you..
I still dont get it.
Are you looking beyond someone? or looking through him as in you consider him invisible? or
important of all,
you think that someone is your soulmate?

Icy Highs:-
How we wish what pple speak is what they think and feel!
Dont you think watching from outside is better?
@ icy highs: hmmm never thoguht about it like.. but yeah can go both ways.. actually dont u think both are kinda related?? i mean.. when there is an issue its coz u dont get how the other person thinks.feels..etc.etc.and coz of tht there are problems whc inevitably u might not want to face..

p.s. wierdly for a guy who believes in the guys-cant-b-friends-wt-girls school of thought, i think ur soulmate would have to be of the opposite sex.
