ok.. well im not for v-day nor against it... its one of the many things in life im indifferent to. the only thing that i wonder is why on one particular day love 'must' be professed to the one you love. there are 365 days in the damn year.. and if only one day tweaks at your conscience then.. what sort of a relationship is that?
this sort of reminds me of my parents dragging me to the temple, or students praying religiously before every exam.. what about the rest of the days? we tend to take the people in our lives for granted. and by this i mean everyone.. including the lord god above..
on particular days/ temple visits/ bdays blah blah.. we remember and glorify them otherwise they are relegated to some lone corner.. (ok may be not that bad.. but get the drift.)
my point isnt against these days, occasions or celebrations.. but against the thought that one day of attention can make up for a year of neglect.

ok...this is what i think
u dont get the chance every other day to tell the person/s u love that they matter to u.so this day.
although ur reasoning is perfectly sound,
i say ,make this a day to remember for the person u love.u dont have tell him/her verbally that they are important to u.show it in action.
and what bout all those ppl u silently admire or whatever, this day (however silly it may sound)gives u another reason to approach them.
finally...i think its dosent do any harm in expressing ur love.and to top it,it makes the other persons day,...keeps him/her cheerful and makes them feel happy.so what the heck!..jus do it! :)
alright will accept that 'school' of rational thought... im thinking of nick naming u mr. rationality wat say?! ;) and yeah life is too short.. so if a day like this is what it takes for someone to profess their love.. then yeah..
ok ms.rebellious...mr.rationality it is!...i love the title ;)..i consider it a compliment.
p.s. btw...i replied to ur mail msg u sent me...didya get it?
it was meant as a compliment;) and yeah jus saw the request.. have added u on.. btw did u read 'the untouchable'- mulk raj anand? i remember asking you this sometime back... wondering..
no madam...dint read it...i am too occupied with my project work...so dint get the chance to go to landmark for a really long time,...my book shopping is long time pending
so i am devouring my college library's fiction section,
jus read 'the world of nagaraj' -r.k.narayan
and 'a beautiful mind'- sylvia nasar....yeah the one that inspired the russel crowe movie (havent seen that movie btw )....
i liked both the books...narayan,for his simple, yet 'very' indian stories, his colorful characters.
....and sylvia nasar's biographical account of john nash's life is very comprehensive, esp the bit about his battle with schizophrenia.
so unfortunately...mulk raj will have to wait till my next trip to landmark.
anyways...so wat are u readin/last read??
i am reading the dark holds no terror.. sashi deshpande.. plan to finish my midnightsw children soon.. started a loonnngg time back. ;)
midnight's children...hmm...i have tried reading rushdie...but after a chapter or two....i find it hard to read, so jus skipping it.

well maybe im jus sayin ths coz i hadda wonderful dayy ths yr...hehe..1 outta 365 almost makes up..
well yeah i guess atleast one day to celebrate the relationship...
and good to know atleast someone is having fun!
if you dont mind e asking.. u personally belive days like this.. or its just another excuse for a good time? ... jus wondering ;)
Celebrations are good, contrary to wht even I thought earlier.
V day, Mothers day etc....lotsa cash flow, business transcations etc..
Jst labelling and picking one day to express, though it can be done every day, I agree
Valentine Day just like other so called 'special days' are mere excuses to celebrate; completely useless.
When we realise that life itself is a celebration, we won't need such excuses.
personally i agree with u.. but there are others who value this day.. so..each to his/her own ;)
