finally!
i am a graduate...
well yeaterday was my college (Stella Maris) convocation... and amidst great pomp and celebration we were awarded our degree certificates.. ( Bachelors of English Literature)personally its very liberating. its an accomplishment.. i am very serious.
i joined the college on 15th june 2002.. and well in exactly a week i was depressed over the bueraucracy, politics, hypocrisy...blah blah... i left school with stars in my eyes regarding the college.. but well it look less than a week for the whole illusion to fall apart. and there were countless moments where i would tell my friends that i wanted to leave.. this slowly progressed... then indifference settled in. from then on it was ok.. cause well i didnt care.
but that does not mean i did not have fun... i have made the most awesome friends, learnt sooo much (outside class ofcourse) about people, myself.. my limits.. and more importantly my abilities.. i had a few fabulous teachers... and some excellent peers.. the course as such was very interesting.. and there a lot of reading to be done.. and i actually read the authors (unlike my lovely classmates).. jane eyre, oliver twist, midnights children... a lot of indian fiction.. philosophy..
but my favourite was advanced english (a level), creative writing, journalistic writing, post colonial literature, and history of ideas (philosophy).. the teacher miss bernadine was awesome.. and i really looked forward to those classes!
but yeah on the whole a very enriching experience.. at the end of any event... the good is what you usualy remember... so heres to my degree!! *cheers*
and for the batch of 2002-2005 we rocked... and we are free! ;)

well i've alwasy been jealous of the arts/commerce/science ppl...cause of their 3 yrs of college compared to 4 yrs of our engg torcher :)....but anyways..congrats!!enjoy the moment.
so yesterday was the convocation huh?...me and my friend were driving along ur college wondering why all the ladies are in sarees and all...now we know :)
yeah same here...i had great expectations of college ...but apart from the friends ive made and the things we did together...everything else is a blur.frankly i dont care about college anymore...waitin to get out.jus 3 months more.i think we dont know what to expect from college exactly ...so we paint for ourselves the wrong picture ,before we join. That life is a great techer (as u said once )...becomes evident to us only in college
and bachelor of english literature?:O....shud take care of punctuation in my posts(oops!,do i put a comma or a semicolon here)..:)...anyways from what i read...u had amazing subjects.better than some obscure priciples of physics.if i was not into engg, i wud definitely have taken literature or somethin like that.
so wat are u planning to do now.become a teacher or somethin?PHD?..???....or not in mood to decide right now?
thanks... yeah it feels awesome to hold my degree.. ;)
and no phd and shit for me.. im doing my post graduation in fashion design... yeah i know 2 seemingly unrelated things.. well fashion journalism is one option, styling, fashion photography... and writing but of course..
but yeah i want to keep my options open.. ALWAYS... never back your self into a corner. ;)
so fashion design it is...good..great choice.ur right about not getting urself in a tight spot/corner...better to have options.
so gonna apply for NIFT or somethin?
congrats baby!
lets drink to that...cheers!
