i donot know why tears are considered sort of like a measuring unit for grief/sorrow... i think the eyes are the most expressive feature in any person... and poignant grief manifests itself in the eyes. the mind even.
tears are but a reaction... sort of like the body/ mind/ soul (whichever..) coming to terms with the loss or tragedy..
i am not very good at hiding my emotions... but then again i react to very little in life.. so loss of someone in the family who is/ was not close to me does not mean im going to cry.. at the same time i am not heartless..
nothing in life is indispensable...neither me nor you... so time does away with the pain but the loss still lingers.

Eyes definitely are the most interesting/beautiful features of our face.they convey a lot of stuff....thats why even in diff. dance forms...eye movements are used to convey fear/love/hate/anger...etc.
and i think women are masters of eye to eye communication.....maybe its a 'built-in' feature or somethin :)..
anyways....To me, tears are jus a way by which te emotions such as extreme joy or sadness find a way out of ur heart.
they are the most genuine forms of human expression ,i think.
and only small kids cry very often...cause they do not have the resistance to pain...but as we grow up...we become good at suppression of visible emotions and their manipulation.
so sometimes even when u want to cry...u just cant!
so its only when the pain becomes uncontrollable that those little drops of water run over ur cheeks with uncontrollable abandon....
