25th dec'07
6.20 am (chennai central): all of us waiting to board train to bombay. no confirmed tickets. but we are hoping to floor the tt with our charm and wit.
7.00am: cant find tt. we are panicking just a lil bit. but are confident about the charm and wit bit.
7.05 am: tt tells us to go hang. after much begging and pleading, he tells us to board the train and the compartment and the berth issue can only be solved after we get to renigunta. coz apparently shite loads of people are going to board the train there. it takes approx 3 hours to get to renigunta.
8:00 am: train has left the station. and we are enjoying and stuffing face with all the food. tried to find tt. to go and beg some more. prayed like we have never prayed before.
9.45 am: tension mounting as there is no assurance that we have seats. and a one day train journey without confirmed tickets is plain hell.
10.00 am: the shite loads fo people enter the damn train as we halt at renigunta. not amused in the least. we realise tht there is no place for us to stand even, let alone sit and travel.

so we throw bags and baggage out at the station and jump pout of the damn train. which in itself was an ordeal as there were sooooo many people! sea of humanity is an understatement.

10.45 am: sitting at renigunta station with designer sunglasses and bags and attracting unwanted attention. finally fixed on a course of action. screw bombay. lets go to kodai.
11;00 am: we find out that the station is so fucking small that we cant cancel ur bombay tickets there and have to haul ass to chennai to do so.
12:30 pm: tickets are booked to go back home. and plans made to haul ass to kodai the next day.
1:00 pm: wstuffing face with the lunch we had taken. the yummiest curd rice can be had on a dirty station platform.
2:00 pm: board train and get back home.

so yesh we finally did haul ass to kodai. froze my ass off as well. if it rains in chennai i switch off the fan. so imagine my plight in kodai. but the trip was worth it.
