its those small things that makes so much sense... an experience teaches you so much more than a classroom ever can! a recent visit to my 'beloved' alma mater stella maris brought so much clarity its beyond any explanation i can give. though i may seem headstrong (arrogant?;), independent and highly detatched i am not any of those.. yet i am all of those..
a couple of my closest friends had decided to move to hyderabad and take up a place together and work. point being work may not be something they like doing.. but working in another state to get out of our beloved homes and make money. i am quite easily convinced when my friends make plans. and the prospect of leaving my house is very very alluring. besides, i have a Ph.d in building castles in the damn air. point is that this could have been a reality cause my parents would have sent me.. blah blah..
than came the fateful visit to my lovely college. and just entering the college gates filled me with such loathing, and hatred for all the nonsense and hypocrisy that the insititute stands for. next came a visit to the staff room and a meeting with all the teachers. its really funny how the teachers pretend to be in louve with you the minute you leave the four walls of the prison. the visit lasted just 15 minutes. but that was all it took to make up my mind.
i cannot do a desk job. i cannot live with myself doing something i donot believe in. i cannot get every morning thinking of the pay check at the end of every month. beacuse frankly that isnt the most important thing for me. and yes i love my friends but i cannot waste few more years of my life and wallow in regret.

yeah!! trust me.. one week at cavinkare and i have learnt life's lessons.. 9-6 jobs are HELL
in an ideal world, i guess we all wld love our jobs, and love every bit of what we do and blah blah, but well, i hate my work.. even though it's parttime, i hate it with all my heart. the only reason i ever do it is really just because of the fat paycheck that helps me pay my rent and gives me electricity and more importantly heat. and food. but there's some other work i do, like in the lab, which is pretty awesome. but then of course, the irony of it all, is that i pay to do that work :) and i get paid to do some mindless shit.
wake up darling, and smell the caffeine. it's a dog eat dog and everything in sight world, it's a choice to of course pick that inane monotony of a job to just get paid, but if you don't take that choice, and you're are lucky.. i pray and fervently hope every person has that kind of luck..but luck as it seems, runs out pretty quick. i have come to accept the fact that a job is something you *have* to do in order to be able to do something you really enjoy doing. i look at it as a side-stream thing. it helps me live in denial :)
Time can dull time.
@aditya: lol.. excellent question. there isnt much tht i want to do forever aside form opening an animal shelter (anyway!). ummm the point i was trying to make isnt about a dream job or anything.. its just that im in the fashion field (sounds awesome and all but aint!).. but my frends wanted me to do a job totally unrelated to my field. i meant tht in such a situation i cannot think of money and say fuck my dream... i just cant. done that once.. i need to give this a shot.. atleast once..
and giving everything a shot makes you the jack of all trades and at the same time makes you wonder where your priorities lie.. because giving everything a shot sounds like funw hen your 21 but when you have to make ends meet?? then you cant exactly wait for the next best thing can you..
